"Geograph" the British Isles!
April 25, 2005
If you are in the UK then here's something new, interesting and different that you can do with your GPS (and a camera).
It's called "Geographing" and this is a project that anyone can take part in. The ultimate aim of the project is to photograph every square kilometre of the British Isles (not a small task - the UK has a land area of 241,590 sq km!!!!).
What is Geograph? Well, it's anything you want it to be!
- - It's a game - how many grid squares will you contribute?
- - It's a geography project for the people
- - It's a national photography project
- - It's a good excuse to get out more!
- - It's a free and open online community project for all
The original idea for this wonderful project came from Gary Rogers, the Editor of Geocaching Today online magazine.
If you want to see what's been done (or what's left to do!) check out the great online map.
Registration is free so register today and participate in the new and exciting GPS game! I think that this is the best GPS game to appear since geocaching!
