Connect a Magellan eXplorist 100, 200 or 300 to a PC

Did you buy a Magellan eXplorist 100, 200 or 300 and which that it had a way to connect it to a PC?
The Magellan eXplorist 100, 200 and 300 doesn't come with a PC connection port but it's possible to jury rig a connection. All you need is:
- A cable with a 9-pin serial port connector
- USB connector
- One MAX-232 chip
- Dip switch for the chip
- Resistor (1 - 5 Ohms)
- Five capacitors (0.33 - 1 microFarad)
- Bendy wire
