Dedicated Sat Nav or PDA?

May 10, 2007

Over on the GlobalPositioningSystems.co.uk blog a question that many people ask is being examined:

Dedicated Sat Nav or PDA?

It's a good question and the will be different for everyone.  Sure, a PDA is much more than a GPS and allows users to do more with the gadget, but they're more expensive, more complicated and not as good at core navigation than a dedicated system.  My experience of both systems leads me to the conclusion that while a PDA-based GPS is nice, they're not as slick and as easy to use as a dedicated GPS.  However, if you want to be checking your email, surfing the web and keeping track of appointments when on the move, a PDA might be a better option.

Ultimately, it depends on your needs.
